Ferry and cruise terminals often lie well outside the city whose name they carry – plan the journey there separately.
Good to know
- Ferries have their own check-in times: usually 60 to 90 minutes before departure with a vehicle, often 30 on foot.
- Cruise terminals are crowded on call days and empty on every other one – a look at the call calendar helps either way.
- Many seaports have a viewing platform or a harbour tour; the port area itself is usually closed to visitors.
